Sacha has discovered the forbidden zones in the basement.
The "NO NO" room, named for a sign from the old house that we moved with us, and also for its contents--the electric panels, all the books we haven't been able to unpack for 2 years now due to lack of bookshelves, etc. It's a fright in there, the door barely opens, but being small of stature, he can wedge himself in. I know, because the timbre changes as heard from the floor above. That, and he emerges dusty.
He's also discovered the beer fridge, where we occasionally store leftovers. Currently, I have the remains of Saturday's dinner, Ina Garten's Penne with Five Cheeses in there. It was quiet downstairs, and as every parent knows, that is a sign that you need to see what your child is doing RIGHT NOW. I came down the stairs to find Sacha with his back to me, rooting around in the open fridge. "Sacha, what are you doing?" I asked. He replied,"Eating past--nothing." You know, lying is a sign of intelligence. I was so proud.
